The Tema central communication team member of the National Democratic Congress NDC Jane Mensah Abrompah has alleged that the West African Examination Council WAEC is one of the most corrupt institutions in Ghana.

She said she finds it extremely difficult to understand why examination question papers are leaked to the public domain every year.

Speaking on Plan B FM morning NKOSUONSEM hosted by Nana Yaw Abrompah, she said that anytime there is a leakage of final exams papers, they blame the students and they suffer the consequences without WAEC as the supervisory body of the said examination is left off the hook.

“For the first time I want to be a citizen, if a lawyer is listening to me I would like him or her to advise me on how we can sue WAEC for such happenings, I can say that WAEC is one of the most corrupt institutions in the country now if you want better results for your ward, you just pay Ghs 20,000 within a week”, she told Nana Yaw Abrompah.

Her allegations came after WAEC canceled the subject results of 3,647 candidates for bringing foreign material such as prepared notes, textbooks, and printed material into the examination halls, and also results of 4,878 candidates were blocked for failing to return learning support materials supplied to them by their schools. Such candidates are to contact their schools,” WAEC said in a statement dated December 18.
