Minerals Commission warns public against fake job recruitment schemes

The Minerals Commission has warned the public against fraudulent job recruitment schemes involving individuals and unauthorized entities claiming to offer employment opportunities at the Commission in exchange for money.

In a statement, the Commission said it had received reports of persons falsely claiming to have been contracted to recruit workers on its behalf.

Management has therefore clarified that it has not contracted any individual, agent or group to undertake recruitment on its behalf.

The Commission also stressed that recruitment into the public service of Ghana is free and that it does not demand any payment, down payment or facilitation fee from applicants at any stage of the recruitment process.

According to the Minerals Commission, all legitimate recruitment opportunities will be advertised through national newspapers, its official website, verified social media platforms and reputable news portals.

The Commission has consequently urged prospective applicants to rely only on these official channels for information on vacancies and recruitment.

It has further advised members of the public not to engage with individuals or groups demanding money in exchange for jobs at the Commission.

Anyone approached with such offers has been encouraged to report the matter to the nearest law enforcement agency or through the Commission’s official contact channels.

The Minerals Commission says it remains committed to transparency and integrity in its operations and has expressed regret over any inconvenience or confusion caused by the fraudulent activities.
