The Ashaiman District Police Command has intensified its fight against crime ahead of the Christmas festivities, demolishing structures believed to be hideouts for suspected criminals at Fitter-Line.

The operation, conducted at about 6:40 a.m. on Saturday, October 17, 2026, was led by the District Commander, DSP Orlando Joseph Adzokpa, and involved 30 police personnel.

According to the police, the exercise was aimed at disrupting criminal activities and addressing security concerns involving suspected criminals accused of terrorising residents in Ashaiman and its surrounding communities.

However, the suspects reportedly fled upon spotting the approaching police team, preventing officers from making any arrests.

The personnel subsequently demolished the structures identified as suspected hideouts.

The operation ended at about 8:40 a.m. without any reported incident.

The command said the exercise forms part of sustained efforts to clamp down on criminal activities and strengthen security across the municipality ahead of the festive season.

It added that the measures are intended to ensure residents can go about their daily activities and legitimate businesses without fear, intimidation or disruption before, during and after the Christmas festivities.
