Upper West: Immigration officer reportedly slaps Information service boss, snatch his Gh¢1000

The Upper West Regional Director of Information Service has had the shock of his life after a group of immigration officers Stopped a public transport he was onboard and forcefully took Ghc1,000 from Him.

Narrating the Ordeal to Media Personalities at Wa in September 2025, Mr. Sinto Nuhu Mustapha expressed worry about the Rate of Irresponsibility exhibited by some immigration officers in Uniform Lately.

The Officers mistook him to be a Fulani and as a result took him into a tent, searched him and took an amount of Ghc1,000 from.hos Pocket, in an attempt to question their reason for taking his money, they slapped him.

It can be recalled that in March 2025, Four officers of the Ghana Immigration Service (GIS) and two farmers in the Nadowli-Kaleo District were in police custody over the murder of Patrick Banoebuuri, a farmer at the Piree-Kaangu community.
