Real Tema City forward Mulla has earned an opportunity to travel to the United Kingdom following his impressive performance at the fifth edition of the Plan B FM GrassRoot Cup 2026.
Mulla finished the tournament as the Top Scorer with four goals, earning him an opportunity to further pursue his football ambitions in the UK through Kicknation Sports Agency, one of the partners of the competition.
The opportunity forms part of Kicknation Sports Agency’s commitment to providing promising grassroots footballers with pathways to develop their careers beyond Ghana.
At the launch of the Plan B FM GrassRoot Cup, Kicknation Sports Agency announced that the tournament’s leading goalscorer would be given an opportunity to travel to the United Kingdom as part of the agency’s efforts to identify and support emerging football talents.
Mulla’s four goals throughout the competition ultimately secured him the coveted award and put him in line for the much-anticipated UK opportunity.
His achievement represents one of the major success stories of this year’s competition, which was organised under the theme “Today’s GrassRoot, Tomorrow’s Global Champion.”
The tournament brought together 32 teams from various communities, providing young footballers with a platform to showcase their abilities in front of coaches, scouts, football enthusiasts and other industry stakeholders.
For Mulla, however, the Golden Boot could prove to be more than just an individual honour. It could serve as a major stepping stone in his football journey, with the opportunity to travel to the UK potentially exposing him to new football environments, professional networks and further career prospects.
Kicknation Sports Agency CEO Wunnam Haruna had earlier outlined the agency’s plans to use the GrassRoot Cup as a pathway for identifying talented players and creating opportunities for them outside Ghana.
Mulla’s journey to the United Kingdom is therefore expected to be closely followed as he seeks to maximise the opportunity and take the next step in his football career.
The Real Tema City striker was presented with his Top Scorer award during the closing ceremony of the Plan B FM GrassRoot Cup at the Tema Community 2 Mexico School Astro Turf on Sunday, September 13, 2026.
The tournament was won by Mangoase FC of Tema Community 2, who defeated Tema Militia FC 15-14 on penalties after the final ended goalless in regulation time.
