From now, October 5, through December 5, 2021, electricity interruptions are expected in several towns in Accra.

This, according to the Ghana Grid Company Limited (GRIDCo), is required in order to carry out “planned improvements” in the Achimota – Mallam corridors, including the decommissioning and replacement of existing lines with new higher-capacity conductors.

GRIDCo stated in a letter to the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) that it has become critical “to transfer as much load as feasible to Pokuase, Achimota, Accra East, and Tema in order to restrict loading at Mallam and Accra Central substations.”

The affected towns have been divided into three groups: A, B, and C.
