Residents of Twifo Praso in the Twifo Atti-Morkwa District of the Central Region have been left shocked following the discovery of a man’s body at the Twifo Praso GPRTU Station.

The deceased, believed to be in his early 50s, was found lifeless behind the GPRTU office building in the early hours of Thursday.

According to eyewitnesses, the man arrived at the Twifo Praso lorry terminal on Wednesday aboard a commercial vehicle from Accra. Upon arrival, he reportedly told drivers, station workers and traders that he was waiting for his son to pick him up before continuing his journey home.

Sources at the station said the man spent several hours at the terminal while waiting for his relative. Witnesses noted that he appeared calm and was seen interacting with people around the station throughout the day.

However, alarm was raised on Thursday morning when he was found lying motionless behind the GPRTU office building.

A crowd gathered at the scene, prompting a report to the police.

Personnel from the Twifo Praso Police Command arrived to assess the situation and conducted preliminary investigations before conveying the body to the Twifo Praso Government Hospital mortuary for preservation and autopsy.

The identity of the deceased has not yet been officially established, and the exact cause of death remains unknown.

Police have launched an investigation into the incident and are working to trace the man’s family members to assist with identification and further inquiries.

Residents have expressed sadness over the incident and are calling for a thorough investigation to establish the circumstances surrounding his death.
