A motor rider has died, while another person sustained injuries following a crash involving a Toyota Tacoma and a motorbike at No Weapon Junction in Asiakwa in the Eastern Region.

The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) said the incident occurred on Saturday, October 24, 2026, with personnel from the Bunso Fire Station responding to a distress call at 10:11 a.m.

A seven-member crew led by STNO I. Aboagye arrived at the scene at 10:25 a.m. and found the motorbike engulfed in flames.

The crew subsequently extinguished the fire using a hose reel.

According to the GNFS, the crash was reportedly caused by wrongful overtaking by the driver of the Toyota Tacoma.

The impact left the front of the pickup truck partially damaged, while the motorbike was completely burnt.

The fire crew concluded its operations at 10:58 a.m. and returned to the station at 11:15 a.m.

The GNFS Eastern Regional Public Relations Officer filed the report on Sunday, October 25, 2026.
