A man believed to be in his 20s has been found dead in a rubbish container at St. Kizito’s B JHS in Mempeasem Electoral Area, a suburb of Bole in the Bole District of the Savannah Region.

The Assemblyman of the area, Hassan Peace Brother, told the media that residents are living in fear due to the increasing number of murder cases recorded in the area.

He said that around 5 a.m. on Saturday, a cleaner at the dumping site reported seeing what appeared to be a human leg in the container.

“I quickly rushed there and saw that a young man was lying inside the container with his body tied,” he said.

He immediately called the Bole District and Divisional Commands, who arrived at the scene and removed the body for identification.

The body has since been deposited at the Sawla District Hospital mortuary.

Peace Brother, on behalf of the people of Bole, has appealed to the Inspector General of Police (IGP) and President Mahama to deploy more security personnel for patrols in the township.
