The Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA) has announced that its vehicle registration platform is currently experiencing technical difficulties, affecting the processing of vehicle registration requests.
In a public notice issued on September 1, 2026, the Authority said its technical team is working to resolve the problem as quickly as possible.
The DVLA has apologised to the public and its clients for any inconvenience caused by the disruption.
The development comes as the Authority begins the next phase of its digital vehicle registration rollout. The DVLA had earlier announced that the registration of unregistered vehicles would commence on September 1, following a pilot phase involving government vehicles.
The Authority says the new digital registration system is intended to improve vehicle identification, strengthen enforcement and reduce revenue leakages.
