The Ghana Police Service has arrested a 12-year-old boy and a 34-year-old man in connection with a viral video showing the minor behind the wheel of a heavy-duty articulated truck.
The truck, a DAF XF 105 with registration number GS 3097-20, was captured in the widely circulated footage being driven by the child, prompting swift police action.
According to the Police, both suspects are currently in the custody of the Central Motor Traffic and Transport Department (MTTD) in Accra, where they are assisting with ongoing investigations.
The Police have used the incident to caution parents, guardians, and vehicle owners against allowing minors or unlicensed persons to operate motor vehicles, especially heavy-duty trucks, warning that such actions endanger lives and breach the Road Traffic Act.
The Service also appealed to the public to support efforts to improve road safety by reporting similar incidents and promoting responsible road use.
