Mary Bright explains how introverts approach friendship, relationships, and marriage

Speaking on Plan B FM’s Nyansapo Fie, hosted by Akosua Gyamfua, ADR Practitioner, Mary Bright Coffie shared her views on how introverted people navigate friendship, relationships, and marriage.

According to her, introverts are naturally observant, reflective, and thoughtful. When choosing a life partner, they tend to place greater value on a person’s character than on physical appearance. She explained that they pay close attention to how individuals treat others—particularly elders—and carefully observe their behaviour over time before making any commitment.

Aunty May noted that introverts are deep thinkers who take their time to understand people before making important life decisions. She added that they possess strong willpower and are not easily influenced or pressured into changing their minds.

She further explained that if an introvert chooses a marriage partner whom their family does not approve of, they are more likely to stand firmly by their decision and remain committed to the person they love.

According to Aunty May, introverts make independent decisions and are less likely to rely on the opinions of others. Instead, they may spend two or even three years observing and getting to know someone before deciding to enter into a serious relationship or marriage.

She also stated that introverts are generally difficult to deceive because they carefully analyse what people say and evaluate whether it aligns with their actions and the facts.

Concluding her discussion, Aunty May described introverts as private individuals who do not reveal everything about themselves. Even when they suspect someone is being dishonest, they often choose not to react immediately, preferring instead to observe, reflect, and understand the situation before responding.
