Abrema May warns young people against decisions that could harm their future

Teachers must watch for signs of pretence among pupils — Abrema May

Young people who prioritise present enjoyment over their future goals risk making choices they may later regret, Abrema May has cautioned.

She made the observation while discussing short-sightedness on Nyansapo Fie, Plan B FM’s family, relationship and lifestyle programme, hosted by Akosua Gyamfua. According to her, thinking ahead is essential, particularly for young people who are still making important decisions about their lives and relationships.

Abrema May illustrated this with the tendency to spend money on unnecessary things to please a romantic partner while overlooking more important priorities. She advised those considering marriage to look beyond immediate attraction and ensure that their prospective partners share similar visions for the future.

She also linked short-sightedness to self-centredness and poor judgement, explaining that failing to handle present situations wisely can affect one’s ability to achieve future aspirations. She cautioned that disregarding God’s direction could also prevent individuals from fulfilling their intended destiny.

Her message to young people was to approach decisions with the future in mind, remain guided by their values and resist the temptation to sacrifice lasting opportunities for temporary satisfaction.
