The New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Tema West Constituency on Sunday, July 12, 2026, successfully held its constituency executive elections in a peaceful, orderly, and transparent atmosphere.

One of the most keenly contested positions was that of Constituency Communications Officer, with delegates choosing between Hon. Sammy Darkwah and Hon. James Edem Tamakloe.

At the end of the counting process, Hon. James Edem Tamakloe emerged victorious and was officially declared the winner. His supporters jubilated over the outcome, while party members pledged to put aside their differences and work together to strengthen the party ahead of the 2028 general election.
In his victory speech, Hon. James Edem Tamakloe expressed his profound appreciation to the delegates for the confidence reposed in him. He pledged to work tirelessly to enhance the party’s communication strategy, foster unity among members, and contribute significantly to the NPP’s efforts to reclaim power in the 2028 general election.
The election also attracted members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), led by Hon. Lawyer James Enu, who attended the event in a show of goodwill and support for the peaceful and democratic process.
