Ghana Athletics, in collaboration with the Ghana Olympic Committee (GOC), has announced a 13-member squad for the 2026 Commonwealth Games scheduled to take place in Glasgow, Scotland, from July 23 to August 2, 2026.
The team comprises a blend of experienced international athletes and emerging talents, reflecting Ghana Athletics’ commitment to athlete development and long-term excellence. Officials say Team Ghana heads into the competition with confidence, aiming to build on recent successes at continental and international events.
The selected athletes are Deborah Acheampong, Anita Afrifa, Evonne Britton, Rose Yeboah, Joseph Amoah, Benjamin Azamati, Mustapha Bokpin, Isaac Botsio, Mammoudu Baba Seidu, Abdul-Rasheed Saminu, Abigail Abugire, Lovina Ewusi, and James Dadzie.
The squad will compete in various events, including the men’s and women’s 100m and 200m races, the 4x100m relays, women’s 800m, women’s 400m, men’s 400m hurdles, and the women’s high jump.
Ghana Athletics expressed optimism that the athletes will make the nation proud and showcase the country’s growing strength on the international athletics stage during the Games in Glasgow.
