Armed robbers have shot and killed a farmer, Emmanuel Kwadwo Obeng, at Maame Ama near Nsokote in the Bosome Freho District of the Ashanti Region.

The unfortunate incident occurred around 2:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 17, 2025.

The deceased, aged 50, was shot in the chest and died instantly.

Information indicates that Mr. Obeng and some residents were rushing to a nearby village after hearing reports of a robbery. Tragically, he encountered the armed robbers on the way and was fatally shot.

In the aftermath, residents expressed concern over the increasing spate of robberies in the area and called on the police and relevant authorities to step up security.

The wife of the deceased, Akua Baduwuaa, said she is devastated by her husband’s death.

According to her, she is uncertain how she will single-handedly care for the seven boys and one girl Mr. Obeng has left behind.
