Charles Cromwell Nanabanyin Onuawonto Bissue, former Secretary to the Inter-Ministerial Committee on Illegal Mining (IMCIM), has strongly denied fresh corruption allegations brought against him by the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP).

Responding to legal action linked to the 2019 Galamsey Fraud documentary by Tiger Eye P.I., Bissue insisted he had acted lawfully and ethically during his tenure.

In a statement on April 29, Bissue condemned the charges as baseless and affirmed his commitment to defending himself through the judicial process.

He challenged the OSP to release the full, unedited version of the undercover investigative video used as evidence in the case, stating that transparency is key to revealing the unvarnished truth.

Bissue also pointed to the political shift since the time of the events in question, urging that the case be handled without bias under the new administration. He called for fairness and urged the public to avoid rushing to judgment, emphasizing trust in Ghana’s legal system.

He concluded by pledging full cooperation and expressing confidence that the judiciary would handle the matter impartially and deliver a just outcome.
