39-Year-Old Hairdresser Kidnapped In Asiakwa; Kidnappers Demand Ransom Of GH¢500,000

The Kibi Divisional Police Command has initiated an investigation into the alarming kidnapping of a 39-year-old woman, Ama Serwaa Konadu, in Asiakwa, located within the Abuakwa South municipality of the Eastern Region.

Ama Serwaa, a respected hairdresser and event decorator in the area, was reportedly abducted on Tuesday, April 22, as she left home for work.

Disturbing reports suggest that her captors sent several nude videos of her to her family the following day, using her own phone. The footage shows the victim being violently attacked with a machete.

The kidnappers, who claim to have taken her to Nigeria, are demanding a ransom of GH¢500,000 for her release.

In response, the victim’s family has filed an official complaint with the Ghana Police Service and other security agencies, providing all video evidence to aid in the investigation.

Sources indicate that the incident has left the residents of Asiakwa shaken, with many calling for heightened police presence and improved security measures in the area.
