The Ghana Health Service (GHS) has announced that all travellers arriving in Ghana will be required to complete a Mandatory Health Declaration Form before embarking on their journey, effective Thursday, November 12, 2026.

In a press release dated November 7, 2026, the Service said the directive follows a recent announcement by the Minister of Health and is aimed at strengthening Ghana’s public health surveillance and preparedness systems.

Under the new requirement, all passengers travelling to Ghana must complete the Health Declaration Form online through the Electronic Health Declaration System (eHDS) at https://ehds.ghs.gov.gh/declaration before departure.

The GHS explained that the measure is intended to enhance the monitoring of potential public health risks and safeguard the health and well-being of both residents and visitors.

It has therefore urged travellers to complete and submit the form ahead of their departure to avoid disruptions to their travel arrangements.

Airlines and other relevant stakeholders have also been encouraged to inform passengers about the new requirement and ensure they are adequately prepared before travelling.

The Service has called on all travellers to comply with the directive, stressing that cooperation is essential to facilitating smooth travel and protecting public health.
