A 27-year-old man has been accused of allegedly raping a sixty-two-year-old woman (name withheld) who is dumb.
The young man, whose name has not been revealed, allegedly raped the victim at Mempeasem, a suburb of Samreboi in the Amenfi West municipality of the Western Region of Ghana.
A younger sister of the victim, Agatha, told journalists that the incident occurred on Monday, July 15, 2024, between the hours of 4 and 5 a.m.
According to her, she received a call from another sister informing her that someone had sexually abused their sister. She rushed to the scene, confirmed the incident, and they took the victim to the hospital for treatment.
The victim has been admitted to Samartex Hospital for treatment. The sister narrated that the victim was asleep when the suspect stormed her room and forcefully had sex with her.
The suspect, whose identity has not been revealed but who is believed to be a foreigner, has been arrested by the Samreboi Divisional Police Command for further investigations.
