The incumbent aspiring Assembly member of the Dzata-Bu electoral area Mr. Bernard Owusu Bempah has refuted the allegations filed against him of manipulating the District Assembly Election by his contender Omar Farouk.

Speaking on Plan B FM’s morning show NKOSUONSEM hosted by Nana Yaw Abrompah, Mr. Owusu Bempah explained that he won the election and was declared the winner by the Electoral Officer in charge of the Mount Zion Polling Station, but Mr. Owusu Bempah couldn’t give the exact number of votes woned.

But his contender Omar Farouk alleged that he won the election by only one vote after counting all the votes at Mount Zion Polling station which consists of six polling centers.

He continued that after Mr. Owusu Bempah noticed that he had lost by only one vote margin he requested for recounting which later emerged that Mr. Owusu Bempah had overtaken (him) Omar with five votes which they also demanded another recount but was denied by EC officials and the electoral materials and officers were prevented by the sympathizers of Omar from leaving the polling station until the  their wish are granted which later was taken to Tema Community 2 police station for a redress.
