Ghana’s tax collection system is a lazy man’s approach – NPP communication officer

Ghana’s tax collection system is a lazy man’s approach – NPP communication officer
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

The Tema Central Communication team member for the ruling New Patriotic Party NPP Mr. Richard Anning has said that Ghana’s tax collection system is a lazy man’s approach to mobilizing revenue which needs to be looked at.

Contributing to Plan B FM’s morning show NKOSUONSEM hosted by Obidehye Kofi Sekyi, the communicator said, that although he is an NPP member he thinks we need to be more innovative as a people because if you introduce too many taxes, investors would now have to explore other options and invest elsewhere.

He suggested that a gap between the optimum tax revenue that could be collected given the country’s economic and structural characteristics and what is being collected, hence leakages in the tax system.
