The Tema Region of the Ghana National Fire Service is continuously educating the general public on safety measures to prevent fire outbreaks in the region and the country as a whole.
Speaking on Plan B Fm morning show NKOSUONSEM with Nana Yaw Abrompah on the topic RAINING SEASON AND FIRE OUTBREAK with ADOII William Klebiti with SOII Nicholas Ohene Agyei encouraged everyone to be cautious about it, ADOII William Klebeti said
“There are some electrical wiring that is not helping in this rainy season because water is a good conductor of electricity so if care is not taken it can cause havoc in various homes and market places” he stated
SOII Nicholas Ohene Agyei in his contribution cautioned the general public to switch off all their electrical gadgets especially Television sets whenever it rains because it can attract thunder and lightning which could cause fire outbreaks.
He added that whenever flooding occurs in various homes, all the lighting systems of the entire house must be switched off to avoid electrocution, and all plugs and extension boards must be also unplugged as well.
Drivers were also advised to take caution when driving through the rain or should park their vehicles to avoid thunder and lightning strikes.
