Prophet Ebenezer Dunamis, a Pentecostal leader and Head Pastor of the Army of God Revival Centre, has revealed that his church’s adherence to COVID-19 regulations was driven by respect for the President’s law, rather than fear of the virus.
In an interview with Nana Asabea on Plan B FM’s social and lifestyle programme, “Nyansapɔ Fie,” Prophet Dunamis explained that the church had no justification for flouting the COVID-19 measures, citing devotion to God and respect for the President’s law.
To support its congregants, the church adjusted its hours to provide spiritual and physical support. “We had to make these changes to accommodate the needs of our members, who require ongoing care,” Prophet Dunamis said. “Returning to our normal hours was essential for their wellbeing.”
Prophet Dunamis also highlighted the challenges of pastoral work, noting that pastors often struggle to manage their time. “Our work is a 24-hour service, and we must attend to our members’ needs throughout the day,” he said.
He emphasised that pastoral work demands dedication and sacrifice. “Pastors often struggle to balance their responsibilities, and their spouses deserve appreciation for their understanding and support,” Prophet Dunamis added.
Lastly, he urged his fellow pastors to prioritise their health by undergoing regular check-ups, as their work can take a toll on their wellbeing.
According to Lady Marilyn Abeka-Daniels, an Adjunct Lecturer at the University of Media, Arts and Communication, Institute of Journalism, the inability of wives to manage their time effectively is often compounded by their use of social media, even after planning.
“This leads to hasty decisions and actions, which can have adverse consequences,” she explained.
“For example, some mothers may resort to serving ‘stone meals’ – pretending to serve supper by offering drinks to their children, which can lead to a lack of nutrients in the home.”
Furthermore, rushing to cook for the family due to limited time can result in food wastage, as it may get burnt. This, in turn, can lead to husbands going to bed on empty stomachs, causing chaos and affecting marital happiness, according to Lady Abeka-Daniels.
To enhance productivity this year, Lady Abeka-Daniels emphasised the importance of managing our 24-hour time wisely, leading to increased productivity.
In conclusion, she encourages effective time management as it is crucial for wives and mothers to maintain a healthy work-life balance, ensure nutritious meals for their families, and boost their overall productivity.
