Vision FC Hold Hearts To Draw In Fiery GPL Clash

Vision FC Hold Hearts To Draw In Fiery GPL Clash

Vision FC and Hearts of Oak produced a thrilling 1-1 draw on Sunday afternoon at the Nii Adjei Kraku II Sports Complex in Tema Newtown, in a game that demonstrated the Ghana Premier League’s Round 27 competitive zeal.

The visitors, Hearts, broke into the lead in the 38th minute with defender Kelvin Osei Asibey.

Arriving highest from a set-piece, Asibey headed over the Vision goalkeeper to give the Phobians a narrow advantage at the interval.

The advantage, however, was not to last. Just three minutes into the second half, Vision responded through Meschack Sowah Adjetey, who netted with a composed finish following persistent pressure from the home side.

The determination infused more passion in Vision’s performance, and they looked the more intimidating of the two teams as the game headed into the second half.

Substitute Emmanuel Akansase effectively turned the score almost completely in Vision’s favour with his 60th-minute charge, but the low box shot barely brushed against the post and went narrowly wide.

The first half was well balanced, but Vision did look a little sharper in the second half.

Hearts rue another away match without a win, and Vision will feel they did enough to win all three points but will have to settle for a hard-earned draw.
