Passengers travelling across major routes from Accra and Kumasi will pay higher fares from Wednesday, April 8, 2026, following a review by VIP Jeoun Transport.

The transport company, in a notice issued on April 7, announced upward adjustments across both its executive coach and standard tour services, citing operational considerations.

Under the executive coach category, fares from Accra to key destinations have seen notable increases. Trips to Kumasi are now pegged at GHS 150, while journeys to Sunyani and Takoradi stand at GHS 200 each. Longer-distance northern routes attract significantly higher charges, with Tamale set at GHS 360, Bolgatanga at GHS 410, and Bawku at GHS 430. The highest fare on the list is the Accra–Kulungugu route at GHS 460.

Similarly, routes within the Ashanti and northern corridors from Kumasi have been revised, with Kumasi–Tamale now costing GHS 210 and Kumasi–Bolgatanga at GHS 250.

For passengers opting for the standard tour buses, fares remain relatively lower but have also been adjusted. Accra–Kumasi is now GHS 120, Accra–Sunyani GHS 170, and Accra–Tamale GHS 290. Coastal routes such as Accra–Takoradi and Accra–Cape Coast are priced at GHS 120 and GHS 110 respectively.

Other destinations, including Enchi, Tarkwa, and Bogoso, fall within the GHS 150–190 range, reflecting moderate increments across shorter routes.

The new pricing structure takes immediate effect on April 8, 2026, and applies nationwide across all VIP Jeoun terminals.

The development is expected to impact regular commuters and long-distance travelers, particularly at a time when transport costs remain a key concern for many Ghanaians.
