A Level 400 Petroleum Engineering student of the University of Energy and Natural Resources (UENR), popularly known as “Immortal Legend,” has allegedly taken his own life.
According to multiple reports, the deceased, identified as Godfred Akomaning, had participated in the 2025 Ghana Universities Debate Championship, where he earned admiration for his exceptional public speaking and intellectual ability.

However, recent reports have stated that Godfred ingested a harmful substance, which led to his death.
“In a six-page memoir he left behind, Godfred explained that he had been struggling with serious mental health issues long before arriving at university. None of his friends were aware of his struggles, and his family offered no meaningful support.
“As a result, his condition steadily worsened until it finally overwhelmed him, leading to this tragic decision,” Ask Ghana reported in a post on Sunday, March 22, 2026.
