Kumasi Asante Kotoko announced the signing of defensive midfielder Samuel Tenedu from Legon Cities, on a three-year deal on Wednesday(31,July).

The 21-year-old successfully completed his medical in Kumasi earlier this week and will be joining the squad ahead of the upcoming season.

Samuel Tenedu, who hails from Obuasi, spent his early years in football with Ebony FC in Kumasi.

Last season, he made 30 appearances for Legon Cities in the Ghana Premier League, winning multiple man of the match awards.

Speaking on the new signing, Asante Kotoko’s head coach, Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum, expressed his excitement about Tenedu’s addition to the team. “Samuel is a fantastic young talent with immense potential. His defensive abilities and vision on the field will be a great asset to our squad. We believe he will play a crucial role for us this season,” Dr. Ogum stated.

Samuel Tenedu also shared his enthusiasm about joining Asante Kotoko. “I am thrilled to sign with the biggest club in Ghana. Having spent a lot of time in Kumasi during my early football years, this feels like coming home.”

“I am eager to get going,” Tenedu said.
