Pretence can be used to avoid conflict and punishment — Rev. Benjamin Boateng

Pretence can be used to avoid conflict and punishment — Rev. Benjamin Boateng

Rev. Benjamin Boateng has explained that people may resort to pretence at home to avoid conflicts, punishment, or situations that could create tension among family members.

Speaking on Nyansapo Fie on Plan B FM, hosted by Akosua Gyamfua. The guest, Rev. Benjamin Boateng said some people pretend in their homes as a way of maintaining peace or protecting their loved ones from situations that may cause them pain.

He noted that although pretence may sometimes be used to prevent conflict, people should be careful about making it a regular habit.

Touching on pretence in schools, Rev. Benjamin Boateng said some students may pretend to be sick when they do not want to perform certain tasks or participate in activities.

He explained that such behaviour may allow students to avoid responsibilities temporarily, but it can become problematic if it develops into a habit.

Rev. Benjamin Boateng further stressed that pretence should have no place in the church, where honesty and truthfulness are expected.
