The Ghana Police Service has intercepted 1,054 vehicles in the Greater Accra Region as part of an ongoing nationwide enforcement exercise targeting the unauthorised use of sirens, horns, strobe lights, beacon lights, improvised vehicle modifications and other traffic-related offences.
According to the Police, the exercise is aimed at ensuring compliance with the country’s Road Traffic Regulations and improving safety on the roads.
Drivers found in violation were educated on the relevant traffic laws, while unauthorised devices and illegal vehicle modifications were removed and confiscated for further action.
The Police said the operation forms part of its commitment to promoting discipline among motorists and enhancing road safety across the country.
Since the nationwide exercise began on 15 June 2026, a total of 4,627 vehicles have been intercepted for various traffic-related offences.
The Ghana Police Service assured the public that the enforcement exercise will continue across all regions, stressing its determination to ensure strict adherence to road traffic regulations and create safer roads for all users.
