The National Democratic Congress (NDC) in Ghana is facing criticism for its treatment of loyal members, particularly Chairman Joe, whose shipment was seized despite his significant contributions to the party.
Joseph Awuku, also known as Chairman Joe, serves as the NDC Communications Officer for Ashaiman Constituency and Chairman of the Serial Callers and Texters Association.
Chairman Joe expressed frustration over the seizure of his consignment, feeling overlooked for his contributions to the party. Despite financially supporting nearly 30% of government officials, he remains without a political appointment.
In a recent interview on Plan B FM’s Nkɔsoɔnsɛm show with host Obidehyie Kofi Sekyi, Awuku emphasized the need for supporting the less privileged, stating that helping those in need is essential.
Awuku’s supporters acknowledge his capabilities in helping the NDC regain power, sparking questions about party loyalty and recognition within the NDC. This controversy raises concerns about the NDC’s treatment of loyal members and internal dynamics.
The NDC is a social democratic political party in Ghana, founded by Jerry Rawlings in 1992. The party has had varying degrees of success in elections, with notable leaders including Jerry Rawlings, John Atta Mills, and John Dramani Mahama. The current leadership, headed by Chairman Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, has faced criticism for their handling of party affairs.
