A member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Communications Team, Ackah Koufie, has defended the government’s management of the education sector, insisting that the current administration has restored stability and good governance.
Responding to concerns raised by the NPP over the upcoming 2026 SHS placement exercise, Mr. Koufie dismissed the criticism and instead accused the previous NPP administration of weakening Ghana’s education system.
Speaking on Nkosuo Nsem on Plan B FM with Kofi Sekyi, he alleged that the previous government presided over a chaotic school placement system and failed to adequately address examination malpractice, claiming that question paper leakages and cheating became prevalent under its watch.
Mr. Koufie maintained that the current NDC administration has introduced competent leadership to manage the education sector and is committed to strengthening policies that promote transparency, efficiency and quality education.
He expressed confidence that the government would continue to implement reforms aimed at improving Ghana’s education system, including ensuring a credible and transparent SHS placement process for 2026 BECE candidates.
