The Ghana Gold Board (GoldBod) has announced that it generated US$1.011 billion in foreign exchange from its artisanal and small-scale mining (ASM) gold trade operations in October 2026.
In an announcement dated November 2, 2026, GoldBod said the entire amount generated was sold to authorised commercial banks through its GoldBod GoFX platform to support stability in the foreign exchange market.
The Board disclosed that it is projecting to generate US$1.2 billion in foreign exchange from its ASM gold trade operations in November 2026.
However, out of the projected amount, US$800 million will be made available to commercial banks to support foreign exchange market stability.
GoldBod said the sales would be conducted through the GoFX platform in accordance with the approved FX Sales and Intermediation Framework to ensure transparency, fairness and regulatory compliance.
The Board reaffirmed its commitment to its statutory mandate of generating foreign exchange for the country and supporting the accumulation of foreign reserves by the Bank of Ghana.
It said the initiative would continue to be implemented in line with the Ghana Accelerated National Reserve Accumulation Policy (GANRAP).
