The Vice president who is currently the Flag bearer of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Alhaji Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has emphatically stated that, LGBTQI+ is a no go area for Ghanaians and it will never happen under his presidency.
Dr. Bawumia emphasized that, the Holy Bible, the Holy Quran the traditional/family values are all against LGBTQI+ so he will do anything possible to and it won’t happen under his watch.
“No matter what the cause is, we will defend our values, we will defend our tradition, we will defend our culture. We won’t agree and send the message to everybody that we are fully prepared to bare what the cause is to protect our society ” he indicated.
Speaking at a stakeholders engagement in the Tema Central Constituency on Thursday, 5 September 2024, Dr. Bawumia categorically stated that, Ghana as a country will never allow same sex and that of LGBTQI+ activities.
“The devilish LGBTQI+ will not happen under Bawumia’s presidency, trust me that, I will do anything possible to protect Ghanaian culture, values and tradition” he asserted.
