Zumunta, the Zongo wing of the Afrafranto Alliance’s campaign for Alan Kyerematen, has ignited excitement throughout Kumasi’s vibrant Zongo communities in the Ashanti Region.
Kicking off in Sawaba Zongo, Zumunta’s National Coordinator, Bala Maikankan, captured the crowd’s attention with Alan Kyerematen’s groundbreaking promises, including the integration of Arabic school “Makaranta” teachers into the Ghana Education Service payroll and empowering Zongo Chiefs and Imams by granting them positions on the Hajj Board, replacing politicians.
This commitment, to ensuring that teachers receive regular salaries, was met with enthusiastic applause from the community.
Entrepreneurs and residents of Sawaba Zongo, wary of the NPP and NDC’s duopoly, openly expressed their support for Mr. Kyerematen, voicing a clear call for change.
“We are tired of empty promises; Alan is the leader we’ve been waiting for,” one local shopkeeper declared.
The tour continued to Sepe Timpo Zongo, where Zumunta engaged in meaningful discussions with the community.
Alan Kyerematen’s vision for the nation was shared, instilling hope in those long disillusioned by the two major political parties.
Clergymen and community leaders welcomed Zumunta with open arms, marking a pivotal moment of acceptance.
The residents of Sepe Timpo voiced their frustrations, recounting 32 years of hardship under consecutive NPP and NDC governments.
A striking 8 out of 10 people endorsed Alan Kyerematen as the only candidate capable of breaking the cycle of poor governance.
“This is our time for change—Ghana will rise again,” a passionate local imam exclaimed.
At Akrom Zongo, Zumunta experienced the community’s strong commitment to preserving its Islamic faith and cultural identity.
Their support for Alan Kyerematen was evident, as his policies promised to protect their heritage while modernizing essential services.
The people of Akrom Zongo called for improvements such as modern basic schools, proper drainage systems, and healthcare facilities, all of which Kyerematen has pledged to deliver.
“Alan understands us, and we believe in his vision,” said a local teacher.
When Zumunta arrived at Aboabo Number 1 Zongo and its surrounding areas, they were met with enthusiasm, especially from the youth, who are eager for economic empowerment and educational opportunities.
Zumunta listened to their concerns and aspirations, assuring them that Alan Kyerematen’s leadership would provide the necessary support.
“We need a government that listens to us.
Alan will deliver,” Murtala Mohammed, a young entrepreneur stated, echoing the sentiments of many.
The tour concluded at Ayeduase Zongo, where Zumunta engaged in a lively interaction with the youth, which ended with a resounding consensus: Alan Kyerematen is the obvious choice for the December 7 elections. The sense of unity within the community inspired Zumunta, who emphasized the importance of making informed political decisions based on solid policies, rather than deceptive manifestos.

Zumunta’s tour through Kumasi’s Zongo communities has not only boosted the movement’s momentum but has also solidified Alan Kyerematen’s status as the candidate of choice for these resilient communities.
