In a shocking twist of events, a final-year student has been stabbed to death for allegedly stealing a bag of a young lady in Bantama in Kumasi.

The deceased was a final year student of the Akenten Appiah Menka University of Skills Training and Entrepreneurial Development (AAMUSTED) in Tanoso, a suburb of Kumasi.

The incident has been confirmed by Adom FM. The report noted that an elderly woman accused the student of stealing her bag and reported him to her thirty-year-old boyfriend.

The student, popularly known as Gye Nyame in the Bantama community, believed to be in his late twenties, was confronted but refuted the allegations.

An altercation broke out between the two men, with each threatening to kill the other. The confrontation broke out between the two men on September 1.

All attempts by the community leaders to make the duo smoke the peace pipe proved futile. The issue escalated on Tuesday, September 3, leading to the stabbing of the student in the head.

He sustained serious injuries, forcing him to bleed profusely. He was immediately rushed to the Suntreso Government Hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival.

The incident has thrown residents in the Bantama community into a state of mourning.
