Ghana’s Parliament Reaffirms Global Leadership in Open Governance at 2025 OGP Summit in Spain

Ghana’s Parliament Reaffirms Global Leadership in Open Governance at 2025 OGP Summit in Spain

Ghana has reaffirmed its position as a continental leader in open governance at the 2025 Open Government Partnership (OGP) Global Summit held in Vitoria-Gasteiz, Spain.

A parliamentary delegation led by the Chairperson of the OGP Parliamentary Caucus, Hon. Emmanuel Kwasi Bedzrah, represented Ghana at the summit, which convened over 2,000 participants from governments, civil society organizations, and policy institutions around the world to promote transparency and accountability in governance.

The delegation highlighted Ghana’s ongoing efforts to strengthen democratic participation and institutional openness — a vision strongly supported by the Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon. Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin, whose leadership continues to inspire reforms that promote trust between citizens and Parliament.
Ghana’s leadership was further demonstrated through its support to other African countries, such as Côte d’Ivoire, in establishing their own Open Parliament initiatives — reinforcing the country’s status as a beacon of democratic transparency on the continent.
