Ghana international Ibrahim Sulemana could be making a return to his former club Atalanta BC, with Serie A giants showing strong interest ahead of the 2024/25 season.

Talks between Atalanta and Cagliari are progressing positively towards a transfer agreement for the promising midfielder.

Sulemana impressed in his debut season with Cagliari following their promotion to Serie A.

The 21-year-old solidified himself as a key player, starting 16 games and contributing two goals under the management of Claudio Ranieri.

His consistent performances earned him a maiden call-up to the Black Stars squad for the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, where he debuted off the bench in the victory over Central African Republic.

A return to Atalanta would mark a homecoming for Sulemana, who began his Italian career with the Bergamo club before stints at Verona and Cagliari.

He made his Ghana debut in the 2-1 win over Mali in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers in May.
