Ghana Athletics (GA) has congratulated the national men’s 4x100m relay team for their impressive performance at the World Athletics Relays in Gaborone, Botswana, where they secured qualification for the 2027 World Athletics Championships in Beijing.

In a press release issued on May 3, GA praised the team’s resilience and dedication to national duty, describing their achievement as a strong statement on the international stage.

However, the Association also acknowledged concerns raised by the athletes regarding travel arrangements and pre-competition preparations. GA accepted full responsibility for the issues and emphasized the importance of providing optimal conditions for elite performance.

The governing body assured stakeholders that it will collaborate closely with the Ministry of Sports and Recreation to address the challenges and implement improved systems to prevent a recurrence.

The statement, signed by GA President Bawah Fuseini, reaffirmed the Association’s commitment to better planning and athlete welfare going forward.
