Galamsey Excavators Can Be Useful To The State And Affected Communities, Don’t Burn Them – Olumanba Begs Gov’t

Galamsey Excavators Can Be Useful To The State And Affected Communities, Don’t Burn Them – Olumanba Begs Gov’t
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

Utilizing the excavators seized from illegal miners could present part of the solution to the yearly flooding issues, according to Political Activist Emmanuel Abankwah Kesse known as Olumanba

He said these excavators could be used for dredging the drains in municipalities that struggle annually with floods than setting them ablaze.

However, Olumanba further explained that the seized excavators can be equally rented out to generate revenue income for the state and the affected communities.

Some 200 military men deployed to Takoradi and Cape Coast in line with the galamsey fight burnt down some seized excavators to ensure that illegal miners did not return to galamsey sites.

Their action generated mixed reaction among members of the public with some supporting the burning down of the excavators while others noted that the excavators could be put to good use.
