Court places 10-day injunction on Kantanka’s funeral, burial rites

Court places 10-day injunction on Kantanka’s funeral, burial rites

An Accra High Court has granted a 10-day interim injunction restraining former Dome-Kwabenya MP, Sarah Adwoa Safo, from proceeding with the funeral and burial arrangements of the late Apostle Kwadwo Safo Kantanka

According to the Lawyer for the Kristo Asafo Mission, Nana Kofi Safo Kantanka, the order was granted following an application by the Mission in relation to the late industrialist’s estate.

He explained that, the injunction temporarily prevents Adwoa Safo from organising the funeral until the matter is further considered by the court.

The dispute follows disagreements within the Safo family over who has the legal authority to oversee the funeral arrangements and the implementation of Apostle Kwadwo Safo’s final wishes.

The funeral, which had been scheduled for July 30 and 31, 2026, is now on hold following the court’s order.

Adwoa Safo, in an interview on Eyewitness News on Tuesday, July 28, insisted that the funeral will proceed as planned and urged her brother Kwadwo Safo Akofena not to disrupt the planned funeral.
