Countries that drive away foreigners are cursed — Selorm Avedetsi

NDC communicator blames private schools for alleged fee pressures in public schools
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

A member of the NDC Communications Team, Selorm Avedtsi, has stated that any country that attacks and drives foreigners from its land is “cursed.”

Speaking on Plan B FM’s Nkosuo Nsem, hosted by Kofi Sekyi, Avedtsi cited countries such as the United States, Britain, and Australia as examples of nations that have benefited immensely from the contributions of foreigners toward their development.

His comments come in the wake of the evacuation of 300 Ghanaian nationals from South Africa by the Government of Ghana following reported xenophobic attacks in the country.

According to him, the actions taken by some South Africans are “weak” and will not contribute positively to the country’s development. He stressed that any nation that treats foreigners with disdain risks suffering in the long run, particularly in terms of economic growth and national development.
