A billboard seeking to promote tolerance for the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer (LGBTQ+) community in Tamale has been brought down as residents register their displeasure over the mounting of the billboard in the metropolis.
The billboard had on it ” love, tolerance, and acceptance” with colours usually associated with the LGBTQ+ community. But the residents had no tolerance for it at all as they torn it apart in fury.

A similar billboard mounted in Accra was also pulled down as a section of the public registered their displeasure. The LGBTQ+ community was angered by the removal.
Ghana is a largely conservative society and appears very unwelcoming to the LGBTQ+.
