The Minister for Roads and Highways, Kwame Governs Agbodza, has disclosed that several cocoa road projects in the Amansie Central District have been recommended for termination due to contractors’ failure to deliver on their contractual obligations.

The Minister made this known in Parliament while responding to questions on plans to rehabilitate the Jacobu–Kunka Junction (Obuasi), Denkyiwaa Junction, Mile 9, Mile 18, Aduntia, Odaso and Manso Watreso roads, as well as other feeder roads serving cocoa evacuation and economic activities in the district.

According to Mr Agbodza, the contractors failed to return to the sites despite several warnings, prompting authorities to recommend the termination of their contracts.

The proposed terminations form part of efforts to address delays in the execution of the road projects and ensure that roads critical to cocoa transportation and other economic activities receive the needed attention.
