Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) officer DO II Ebenezer Yenzu has highlighted the Service’s move to digitise its fire compliance processes to make certificate management and renewals easier for individuals and businesses.
Speaking on Plan B FM’s Nkosuonsem, hosted by Obidehyie Kofi Sekyi, DO II Ebenezer Yenzu said the automated system is intended to reduce the difficulties associated with existing manual processes and improve communication between the Fire Service and applicants.
He explained that the digital platform will enable the Fire Service to securely keep important applicant details and communicate with certificate holders more efficiently, including through their mobile phones.
According to him, the system will also send notifications to certificate holders when their fire certificates are approaching their renewal dates.
DO II Ebenezer Yenzu said the alerts would help applicants take the necessary steps to renew their certificates on time and avoid waiting until their certificates expire.
He noted that the initiative forms part of the Fire Service’s move towards Automated Fire Compliance, which seeks to digitise and streamline its compliance processes.
DO II Yenzu said the broader objective is to move the Fire Service’s services onto a digital platform, making them more convenient for the public while reducing delays associated with manual procedures.
