A Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) officer, in the Tema District, DO III Hawawu Musa, has highlighted the introduction of a digital platform aimed at simplifying the application process for fire safety permits and certificates.
Speaking on Plan B FM’s Nkosuonsem, hosted by Obidehyie Kofi Sekyi, DO III Hawawu Musa said the digital system forms part of efforts by the Fire Service to modernise its operations and make its services more accessible to the public.
She explained that the previous application process involved manual procedures and, in some cases, required applicants to go through service providers, which could result in delays.
According to her, the new digital platform will allow individuals, businesses and property owners to apply for Fire Service certificates online, reducing the need to rely solely on the traditional manual process.
DO III Hawawu Musa said the digitalisation is expected to improve efficiency, reduce processing time and make it more convenient for members of the public to access fire safety services.
