President John Dramani Mahama is expected to cut sod in the coming weeks for the construction of three 160-bed Regional Referral Hospitals as part of efforts to improve healthcare delivery in Ghana.
The hospitals will be located in the Oti, Savannah and Western North Regions.
The announcement was made by Presidential Spokesperson Felix Kwakye Ofosu, who said the projects form part of a broader strategy by the Mahama administration to strengthen healthcare infrastructure and improve access to quality medical services.
The three facilities are expected to serve as major referral centres for residents in their respective regions and help improve access to specialised healthcare.
The projects also form part of broader efforts to address gaps in healthcare infrastructure across the country. Previous plans under the Agenda 111 programme included 160-bed regional hospitals in several newly created regions, including Oti, Savannah and Western North.
According to Mr Kwakye Ofosu, President Mahama is expected to officially commence the projects in the coming weeks with sod-cutting ceremonies.
