The Police in Tema have intercepted 866 parcels of a white powdered substance suspected to be cocaine. They were concealed in sacks of gari.

‎The seizure followed an intelligence-led operation conducted by the Police at about 8 pm on Wednesday (August 5, 2026).

‎Three suspects, including a Dutch national and two Ghanaians have been arrested in connection with the consignment.‎

Sources close to the operation told Graphic Online’s Benjamin Xornam Glover that the suspects were picked up while supervising a group of men loading sacks of gari and ‘konkonte’ into a 40-foot container for export at a warehouse within the Tema Port enclave.

‎The suspects, together with the truck and the intercepted parcels, are currently in police custody for further investigations.
