The National Communications Authority (NCA) has extended the deadline for the submission of applications for 5G spectrum licences from Thursday, August 6, 2026, to Thursday, August 27, 2026, at 5:00 p.m.

In a press release issued on Friday, July 31, 2026, the Authority announced that it has published its Consolidated Response to queries received from prospective applicants under the Request for Applications (RFA) for spectrum licences in the 700 MHz, 23 GHz and 3 GHz Mid Bands for the provision of mobile broadband services, including 5G.

According to the NCA, the consolidated document addresses written questions submitted by prospective applicants, as well as issues raised during the Pre-Application Briefing held on July 27, 2026. It also contains amendments, corrections and clarifications to the RFA following the Authority’s review of the application process.

The Authority has advised all prospective applicants to carefully study both the RFA and the Consolidated Response, paying particular attention to the revised timetable and all amendments contained in the updated document.

The NCA further noted that the extension of the application deadline has resulted in corresponding adjustments to the remaining dates in the application timetable.

The Consolidated Response is available on the NCA’s official website, and the Authority encouraged all interested applicants to review the document before submitting their applications.

The NCA is Ghana’s regulator for the electronic communications sector and is responsible for licensing and regulating communications activities and services across the country under the National Communications Authority Act, 2008 (Act 769).
