Ashanti Regional Police investigate Chief Inspector over alleged ownership of structures rented to sex workers

The Ashanti Regional Police Command has commenced investigations into allegations against a Chief Inspector stationed in the Ashanti Region for allegedly owning unauthorized wooden structures at Asafo BB and renting them out to commercial sex workers.

In a press statement dated July 10, 2026, and signed by the Head of the Public Affairs Unit of the Ashanti Regional Police Command, Superintendent of Police Godwin Ahianyo, the Command indicated that it is treating the allegations with the utmost seriousness.

According to the statement, investigations are currently underway to establish the facts surrounding the allegations.

The Police Command further assured the public that developments arising from the investigations will be communicated in due course.
